Trash and Deletion

Nothing in Mycorr is deleted the moment you press delete. Models, spaces and organizations go into a window first, and during that window everything comes back.

Find deleted things under Trash in the sidebar:

Deleted models and spaces rest here for 30 days before they're permanently removed.

The windows

The account window is deliberately the short one. The others are undone by someone who is still there; a purged account has no owner left to change their mind, so the decision is made quickly and then honoured.

Models

A deleted model sits in Trash with its tables. Restore brings it back whole.

Delete forever removes it immediately, without waiting out the window. That cannot be undone.

Models close to the end of their window are flagged Permanently deleted very soon.

Spaces

Deleting a space takes every nested space and every model under it onto one clock. The Trash groups them under the space they came from, and Restore space brings the whole subtree back at once — you do not restore the models one by one.

Two rules that surprise people:

  • You restore the root, not a branch. If a space was deleted as part of a larger deletion, restoring it alone is refused, and the message names the root to restore instead.
  • A model already in the trash is re-clocked. If a model was trashed a week ago and then its space is deleted, its clock restarts with the space. Nothing outlives the teardown.

Trash is shown per organization, and only to the people who effectively manage the deleted spaces.

See Spaces for the deletion itself.

Organizations

Deleting an organization is the same act one level up: every space in it is put on the 30-day clock, doomed ones included, and every model is trashed.

Cancelling brings back everything under the organization — including anything that was already in the trash before the deletion was scheduled.

Your account

Deleting your account puts your personal organization, its spaces and every model you own into a 48-hour window. Sign in during that time and cancel, and it all comes back.

After that, one thing outlives the purge: tables other people imported stay copyable for a further 10 days.

That window is the whole offboarding mechanism, not a cleanup delay. There is no hand-over protocol — anyone still holding an import of one of your tables can copy or detach it during those ten days, and after that it is gone. It is the only chance for someone else's work to be rescued from an account that is no longer there.

See Account Management.

What deletion does not touch

Models in organization spaces you manage are not affected by deleting your account. They belong to the space, not to you — which is the practical reason to keep shared work in a space rather than in your personal organization.

A trashed table's attachments are held for the same window as the table. Files are only reclaimed once nothing references them, and only after a later sweep confirms it — so a restore never comes back missing its files.
